Gloop and Gleep: A Sewing Adventure
On our fifth lovely snow day off together in our warm and cozy house (we have not had even one argument yet – none of us!!!) Don decided to introduce The Herculoids Comic to Autumn. And of course, like everything else he loves, so does she. She especially loved the stories about Gloop and Gleep, the ghosts. She kept talking about them and about how she wanted to have them.
So, we decided to make them. I found an old bed sheet and Don drew up the plans:
Don cut out the patterns while I got out the sewing machine (and Autumn chewed on a cocktail stirrer – go figure):
Gloop and Gleep – Stage 1:
Sew, sew, sew the ghosts gently up with thread:
Gloop and Gleep – Stage 2:
Everything we used was recycled including the stuffing from a couple of well worn pillows:
Giving Gloop and Gleep their last stitches and eyes:
Gloop and Gleep – Stage 3:
Gloop and Gleep live:
We are certainly getting this “family” thing down now that Autumn (and well us too) are older, wiser and gettin’ jiggy with the reality that we really love hanging out together (how great is that!) It takes us freedom fighters longer than the rest!
P.S. This is dedicated to Zanne and Martin Luther King Jr. Sewing, family and the future…
