That’s neat that you went to Sarah Lawrence! I went there freshman year of college (I ended up transferring because I thought that while it would be great for grad school, it wasn’t what I wanted for undergraduate).
SLC’s Masters in the Art of Teaching program is phenomenal – I still talk with my professors. It was also quite the life learning experience as I we moved from Seattle to Manhattan in July of 2001 and my first day of class was 9/11/01 (which of course I never made it to since there was no way out of Manhattan) – whew! In addition, when I graduated I was seven months pregnant. What a life altering experience it all turned out to be.
That’s awesome to hear! One of my future considerations is going back to school for education, so I’ll definitely have to consider SLC again — I have a soft spot for the school even though I spent a year there — and I still sometimes e-mail one of my teachers. Congrats on combining school and a pregnancy — I can only imagine, although oddly enough while still in school I had a number of dreams involving getting pregnant and still having a year left of school.
I saw your resolution to buy used. It’s a great cost-savings and terrific for the environment. I sell used kids apparel and accessories online at GumdropLane.com. I invite you to check it out and let me know what you think.
Keep up the good work! Thanks for your consideration.
We are writing to you again to inform you (and hopefully you could pass the message along to your readers) about the new want ad on our site http://www.adography.com. In the past we have written to you about the need for a photograph featuring a frustrated mom in a minivan for Travel Wows. Our new want ad is for Hallmark and we are looking for photographs featuring a mother with her child/ren. We are hoping to choose the best photo in time for the Mother’s Day greeting card season.
Our company is quite unique. We are a company that bridges the gap between photographers and advertisers. Whether someone is a professional or amateur photographer, you can post your photos to our website and make easy cash. Advertisers (small and big biz) post want-ads and will pay for your photos. Small businesses are able to find the perfect image/photograph that they may need for an upcoming ad, promotion, campaign, etc. We also offer free publicity by promoting the want ad to a variety of outlets. For instance, we are promoting the want ads through Flickr, Twitter and major blogs. By informing customers of the want ad, and the $ they can make; we are putting the company name out there to potential consumers. Any company, big or small, will get the best of both worlds when working with Adography.
We just wanted to inform you again about who we are and what we do. Thanks in advance for taking a look at the want ad!
I am a long time lurker, a friend of Zanne’s from MA. I love your beautiful blog– thanks for keeping it up. I’m writing because I’m in search of the name of the book you once linked to that explores the connections between dairy and gluten and children’s behavior. A friend is struggling, and has started the diet, and I would love to give her the book.
